RepairBuddy ("we", "us", "our") operates a doorstep repair booking platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account details: name, email address, mobile number, state, city, and address.
Booking details: service type, described issues, photos/videos you upload, and address for the visit.
Security recovery data: a security question and answer you set at registration, used only to verify your identity if you lose access to your email.
Location data: for technicians, GPS coordinates are captured only when you tap "Mark Reached" on a job, to confirm arrival at the customer's location.
Payment references: we store a payment reference ID for each booking; full card/bank details are handled directly by our payment gateway and never stored on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account and bookings.
To match customers with nearby technicians and confirm job completion via OTP.
To send transactional emails: OTP codes, booking confirmations, invoices, and account notices.
To respond to support requests submitted via the Contact/Help form.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. Limited information (name, phone, address) is shared between a customer and the technician assigned to their booking, solely to complete the service. We may share data with service providers who help us operate the platform (e.g. email delivery, payment processing), bound by confidentiality obligations.

4. Data Security

Security answers are stored in hashed (encrypted) form and are never visible in plain text, including to our own staff. Login is verified using a one-time password sent to your registered email rather than a stored password.

5. Your Choices

You can update your profile details at any time from your dashboard.
You can request account deletion by contacting us via the Help form.
Email change requests are reviewed by an administrator before taking effect, to prevent unauthorized account takeover.
